The Green Festivals Experience

Making five videos at the nation’s premiere sustainability event

Last weekend TrimTab Media was a media sponsor of the 10th annual San Francisco Green Festival, an event with over 350 socially and environmentally conscious exhibitors, attended by tens of thousands. We not only had a booth there, but produced 5 videos from the event, shooting, editing and sharing multiple stories per day.

We told the story of an attendee, a volunteer, Amy Goodman of Democracy Now!, Rev Yearwood of Hip Hop Caucus, and in a final video, brought together exhibitors, sponsors, partners, and Alisa Gravitz, one of the founders of Green Festivals and Executive Director of Green America.

It was truly satisfying to see so many vibrant businesses and non-profits sharing what they do with the public – building relationships and rapport.

There were so many inspiring people, businesses and organizations to meet, we felt that we barely scratched the surface. We’re looking forward to being present at more events that bring together the sustainability community…not only to connect with potential clients, but to meet with the myriad of people that make up the movement towards sustainability.

Running an interactive booth

At our booth, we took photos of more than 50 people that shared how they make a difference in their everyday lives – how they’re “TrimTabs.” The range of actions that people shared was huge – from using a hanky instead of a tissue to founding innovative businesses and nonprofits that address social and environmental issues. After the festival we uploaded all of the photos to a Facebook album – check them out and see how San Franciscans are TrimTabs.
